  • ♂ Calcium Carbide

    Calcium carbide is a chemical compound whose chemical formula is CaC2. It is composed of calcium and carbide.Mainly used in the production of Acetylene Gas ,which is used for cutting and welding in the metalworking industry at better cutting and welding effect ,also used in Steelmaking as Desulphurization and Deoxidization,for Fertilizer of Calcium Cyanamide ,PVC, Creation of Carbide Lamps and others.

    1) Steel Making
    Calcium carbide helps in desulfurization of any kind of iron and acts as an important fuel in the process of steelmaking. This procedure can extend to any amount of scrap formulized into liquid iron. This of course very much depends on the estimated budget. Calcium carbide also acts as a powerful deoxidizer during the process of ladle treatment.

    2) Calcium Carbide
    It is used in the production of calcium cyanamid by means of reacting it with nitrogen in a very high temperature. Calcium cyanamid is further used for production of high quality fertilizers.

    3) Creation of Carbide Lamps
    Calcium carbide is used in carbide lamps. For carbide lamps acetylene is added along with water for ignition. Carbide lamps are extensively used in copper, slate and tin mines. They are now being replaced by electric lamps but are still popular for adventures and scientific expeditions in caves. They are widely used in vintage cars for their sophisticated look.

  • ♂ Dicyandiamide

    It is an intermediate for melamine production and is the basic ingredient of amino plastics and resins. It is used in the production of a wide range of organic chemicals including slow and continuous nitrogen release fertilizers, fireproofing agents, epoxy laminates for circuit boards, powder coatings and adhesives, water treatment chemicals, dye fixing, leather and rubber chemicals, explosives and pharmaceuticals.
  • ♂ Formic Acid

    The principal use of formic acid is as a preservative and antibacterial agent in livestock feed. When sprayed on fresh hay or other silage, it arrests certain decay processes and causes the feed to retain its nutritive value longer, and so it is widely used to preserve winter feed for cattle. In the poultry industry, it is sometimes added to feed to kill salmonella bacteria. Other uses:

    1)It is used to process organic latex (sap) into raw rubber.
    2) Beekeepers use formic acid as a miticide against the Tracheal (Acarapis woodi) mite and the Varroa mite.
    3) It is of minor importance in the textile industry and for the tanning of leather.
    4) Some formate esters are artificial flavorings or perfumes.
    5) It is the active ingredient in some brands of household limescale remover.
    6) It is used in laboratories as a solvent modifier for HPLC separations of proteins and peptides, especially when the sample is being prepared for mass spectrometry analysis.
    7) It is used by clinical pathology laboratories to disinfect prion activity in brain samples.

  • ♂ Oxalic Acid

    An essential household chemical used in various ways such as a rust remover, a cleaning agent, on wood working, as stain lifter and as bleaching agent and many more. At high does, Oxalic acid is very dangerous but at moderate doses it is safe for various useful functions. Oxalic acid is a natural component of plants and vegetables such as buckwheat and rhubarb. It is available for purchase in powdered form at your local home improvement depot. The Oxalic powder is then mixed with water to turn into a solution of Oxalic acid. Here are some uses of Oxalic acid.

    1) Bleaching
    Oxalic acid can be used as a bleaching agent for wood and stone. Wood, when exposed to weather elements turn into gray. When Oxalic acid is applied on an old and graying wood floor, it brings back the wood floor*s natural white color. Oxalic acid is used in preparation for staining old wood floors. It is also used by furniture manufacturers to lighten heavily stained areas of wood furniture as preparation for refinishing.

    2) Removing Stains
    Oxalic acid effectively removes mustard, ink, various food stains and other types of stains. Oxalic acid is a gentle stain remover that eats the stain but leaves the base surfaces such as wood, intact. You can use Oxalic acid to remove most stains found on stone, brick, linoleum, wood and vinyl surfaces. However, do not use Oxalic acid if your flooring is sealed as Oxalic acid will eat through the finishing.

    3) Removing Rusts
    Oxalic acid is also used to remove rusts that are commonly found on plumbing pipes and kitchen countertops. Although you can also use Oxalic acid to remove stains from fabrics such as linen and cotton, it will take a lot of time to remove the stains with Oxalic acid that it is better to have your fabrics dry cleaned instead. Oxalic acid is also a major ingredient found in commercial rust removers for sinks, tubs and metal rust stains.

    4) Other Uses
    Aside from rust removing, stain removing and bleaching, Oxalic acid is also used as a reducing agent in developing photographic film. You can also find Oxalic acid used in wastewater treatment since Oxalic acid can effectively remove calcium from wastewater. Lastly, Oxalic acid is also used as a grinding agent when polishing marble.

  • ♂ Caustic Soda Flakes

    Another name is Sodium hydroxide .It is a white solid available in flakes. And soluble in water, ethanol and methanol. This alkali is deliquescent and readily absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide in air.It is used in many industries, mostly as a strong chemical base in the manufacture of pulp and paper, textiles, drinking water, soaps and detergents and as a drain cleaner.

    1) It is the main raw materials for the production of soap;
    2) In the papermaking industry, it can dissolve the impurity of the wood pulp, so that the pure fiber can be available the papermaking;
    3) In Textile Industry it can be used in the production of the fabric;
    4) In oil refining industry, it is used to remove the acids in the oil and improve the smell and color of the oil & petroleum products.

  • ♂ Ammonium Nitrate (PPAN & CPAN)

    Ammonium nitrate is a chemical compound that consists of nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen. At room temperature it is a white crystal-like substance. Commercial production consists of reacting ammonia with nitric acid which produces a solution of ammonium nitrate. It has many important applications.

    1) Amonium nitrate is used in the high explosive ANFO (ammonium nitrate/fuel oil). This is one of the most popular explosives for a variety of applications such as; coal mining, quarrying, and in construction. It is popular because it is a cheap and highly stable explosive. ANFO makes up about 80% of all explosives used in the United States each year. Unfortunately ammonium nitrate is also used to create homemade explosives, often used by terrorists, called a fertilizer bomb.
    2) Amonium nitrate is also one of the most commonly used high nitrogen fertilizers. It is widely used for this purpose in agriculture around the world.
    3) Another important use of this chemical compound is in instant cold packs. These contain two packs, one with water and the other with ammonium nitrate, and when broken these mix to create an endothermic reaction (absorbs heat from the surroundings to become cool). These packs are commonly used to reduce swelling for sports injuries or other first aid situations where ice is not available.

  • ♂ Colloidal Silica (Silica Sol)

    Colloidal Silica belongs to adhesive ,liquid silica,it is odorless, tasteless and non-toxic.Since the colloid grains are minute (10-20nm) and have relatively larger specific surface area, the grains themselves are colorless and transparent, so they do not affect the natural color of the materials to be covered. With low viscosity, it can soak the places where water soaks, therefore, it shows excellent dispersion and permeability when mixed with other substances.When the moisture contained in colloidal silica is evaporated, the colloid grains firmly adhere to the material surface and the combination of silicon and oxygen is then formed between grains. It is a good adhesive.

    3 .Used in precision casting of thin covers to increase the cover strength ,improve the casting smooth finish .its molding quality is better than that of water glass .it can be used to replace ethyl silicate for molding so as to reduce the costs and help improve the operating conditions .
    4 . Used for making catalyst and as catalyst carrier since having large specific surface area .
    5 .Used in paper-making industry as the anti-glutinous agent of cellophane ,pre-treatment agent of photographic paper ,skidproof agent of cement bags ,etc .
    6 .Used as sizing agent in textile industry .when used with oil agent to process wool and rabbit hair ,it helps improve the processing of wool and rabbit hair ,reduce broken ends ,eliminate flying ,thus improve the finished product rate and increase the economic returns .
    7 .Used as the treatment agent of silicon steel plates ,dispersing agent of kinescopes and skidproof agent of floor waxes ,etc.
